This final group of nine contains the weakest result Mrigashira produces with anybody in the zodiac, and it also contains the one relationship in which Mrigashira is actually instructed to use the habit that ruins most of its other matches. Dhanishta at thirty-five per cent is the bottom of the whole set and is named …

Something in this group of nine should stop every serious student. Hasta gives Mrigashira eighty-two per cent, the strongest figure this nakshatra reaches with anybody in the zodiac. And yet Hasta is not named as Mrigashira’s ideal life partner. That title belongs to Ardra, which rates four points lower. When the highest number and the …

Most nakshatras lose a relationship through temper, pride or neglect. Mrigashira loses it through thinking. This is the one nakshatra in the zodiac that will take a perfectly good marriage apart to see how it works, and then be genuinely surprised when the other person feels examined rather than loved. Look across all twenty-seven of …

Attraction and compatibility are not the same thing, and nowhere in Rohini’s chapter is that gap wider than in this final group of nine. One of these matches is described as compulsive. The two people cannot leave each other alone and cannot stop damaging each other either, and the score sits at thirty-seven per cent. …

If you want to understand a nakshatra quickly, do not start with its best match. Start with its worst one, because that is where the nakshatra’s weakness is fully exposed and nothing is there to cover it. For Rohini, both extremes happen to sit in this middle group of nine. Magha, at twenty-eight per cent, …

There is an old story that every student of nakshatras hears early. Chandra, the Moon, married the twenty-seven daughters of Daksha, and among all of them he loved only Rohini. He stayed with her and neglected the rest. The other wives complained to their father, Daksha cursed the Moon with wasting away, and the whole …

Compatibility tables are easy to read and easy to misuse. A student looks up two nakshatras, finds a number, and decides the marriage question is settled. It is not. A percentage tells you where the friction will sit. It does not tell you whether two people will build a life together, because that depends on …

Part three of three. What happens in an actual chart. Part one: read the verses. Part two: follow the word. Neither of them answers the question a working astrologer actually has, which is whether treating Rahu as a lord of Aquarius makes a reading better or worse. No verse can answer that. A text tells …
Rahu and Ketu as Sign Lords – What Changes in Prediction Read More »
In part one we read the verses. Parashara gives Aquarius and Scorpio to Rahu and Ketu in two places, and Jataka Parijata gives Rahu a different set of signs altogether. Anyone who says the texts are silent has not read them. But there is a word that appears in almost every modern discussion of this …

Set an Aquarius ascendant in two different astrology programs and you may get two different lagna lords. One will show Saturn. The other will show Rahu. The same thing happens with a Scorpio ascendant, where you will be shown either Mars or Ketu. This is not a small difference. The sign lord decides which dasha …
