As I always say, the Moon is the king in Horary Astrology (Prashna Jyotish). The Moon captures the essence of the moment, and when rightly interpreted, it reveals the deepest truths hidden beneath the surface.
Let me share a real-life story that illustrates the power of Prashna Jyotish, combined with the divine guidance of Nimitta (omens).
I had a consultancy scheduled, and just a few moments before joining the session, I suddenly felt inspired to cast a Prashna Kundali. It was not pre-planned—it came to me spontaneously, like a silent whisper from the cosmos. And exactly at that moment, I experienced a mild yet sudden pain in my left ear.
Now, this wasn’t just a random bodily sensation. As an astrologer, I pay close attention to such nimittas. The left ear corresponds to the 3rd house, and I immediately directed my focus there.
In the Prashna chart, the Moon was placed in the 3rd house, in Scorpio. Now think about this—Scorpio is the sign of secrets, emotional depth, transformation, and symbolic death. It’s also the 8th from the 8th, making it a doubly transformative house. Interestingly, Mars, the ruler of Scorpio and of the 8th house, was sitting in Moon’s own sign, Cancer, in the 11th house. And if you observe carefully, the 11th house is the 6th from the 6th, showing chronic issues, health problems, and karmic repercussions.
These planetary placements immediately gave me a deep intuitive signal that the client who was about to consult me was dealing with intense emotional and karmic issues, particularly revolving around siblings, death, health, and debts.
So, I started asking the native questions, even before looking at the birth chart:
“Have there been any sudden deaths in your family recently?”
He replied, “Yes, two of my mother’s elder sisters passed away recently.”
“Is there any issue regarding marriage in your sibling’s life?”
He said, “Yes, my sister has faced a huge betrayal in her marriage.”
“Has your sister recently been diagnosed with any health issue?”
He confirmed, “Yes sir, she has gallbladder stones and a surgery is scheduled soon.”
“Has anyone in your maternal family committed suicide?”
He said, “Yes, my maternal uncle’s son did that.”
“Do you yourself struggle with suicidal thoughts?”
He replied, “Yes, very often.”
“Have you taken any loan recently?”
He answered, “Yes, I took a loan to purchase a bike.”
Then I asked him one more question:
“Has any female in your family passed away about 8 or 11 months ago?”
He thought for a moment and denied. (Please keep this in mind—this part becomes important later.)
At this point, I told him, “Now please share your birth details”, and only then I moved to his natal chart. But now comes the deeper question—how did all these details come out so accurately, even before checking the birth chart?
The answer lies in the power of the Prashna Kundali, and more importantly, in the Nimitta that triggered its creation. The cosmos always speaks to those who listen, and when the moment is significant, it sends very precise signals. This is why I don’t cast a Prashna chart for every consultation. But this time, the omen was strong, and I trusted it.
I then combined the Prashna chart with the natal chart and delivered the consultation.
Now here’s the surprising part. After nearly three hours, he called my office again and asked to connect with me. When he came on the call, he said, “Sir, I just spoke to my mother—she reminded me that yes, about 8 months ago, my cousin sister (the daughter of my father’s elder brother) passed away.”
This was the very incident I had asked about earlier, which he initially denied. But see how the cosmic signals never lie—even if the native forgets or misses something, Prashna and Nimitta do not miss.
I am sharing this experience with you all so that you can witness the depth of Prashna Jyotish. It’s not just a technique—it is a sacred dialogue between the astrologer and the universe. When done with sincerity, it reveals layers upon layers of truth, sometimes even before any birth details are shared.
There are many more insights that I cannot reveal due to privacy, but even by simply observing the Moon and the planetary connections to it, I was able to see so much.
Remember, when an omen comes, don’t ignore it. Because at that moment, the cosmos is speaking directly to you.
